Dutch Oven Classes for 2017

Jan 18th     Intro to Dutch Oven = Basics
Feb. 15th    One Pot Meals
March 22nd     Intro + Desserts
April 19th    Breads
October 25th    Turkey in a Dutch Oven + Sweet Potatoes

Each class costs $10.00 for one person and $15.00 for two people. The classes are taught by Colleen Sloan author of the Log Cabin Dutch Oven Cookbooks. Classes start at 6:30 pm. and ends around 8:30 pm. Classes are held at A Happy Camper 1848 Addison Ave. East in Twin Falls Idaho. You must prepay to save a spot in each class. Most important you need to bring a chair to sit in. Other things you might want to bring is note pad and pen and some water to drink. If you have questions just call 208-736-8048.

The April Class
Your Dutch Oven will get from 1 lb. to 3 lb. of pressure inside your dutch oven when cooking. The air will circulate all by its self if you do not fill the dutch oven too much. You need at least 1" of clearance under the lid to get the circulation you need while cooking.
If you stir you potatoes too much you will get black potatoes and they will be kind a mushy. All you need to do is put them in and then put the lid on. Do Not Stir after that and they will turn out nice and white!!

The October Class
We did "A Turkey" YUM!!!!

Tip from the class. If you are getting too hot on your Camp Chef stove use this Dutch Oven Trivet to solve the problem.

You can use any Trivet that you have just to raise it up a little more. It works great!!

Tip From the Class about how to tell if Eggs are good or bad.
Take one cup of water and put egg in
If Eggs narrow end comes up it is good
If Egg is side ways in water you have one week to use it
If Egg is on the bottom not good to eat!!
